The Eaglehawk Dive Centre (EDC) started operating in 1991. The owners Mick Baron and Karen Gowlett-Holmes are experienced local divers with over 100 years combined diving experience. Our staff, several of whom are marine biologists, have extensive local knowledge from thousands of hours spent diving around the Tasmanian coast and include professional underwater photographers and videographers.
The dive centre is situated on the spectacular Tasman Peninsula, 80 km from Hobart – Tasmania’s capital – and 50 minutes from the airport.
Our operation caters for all requirements of the visiting scuba diver. Our services include boat dives, accommodation, air fills, gear hire, courses, a dive shop and much more.
Most of our dive sites are accessible only by boat. Shore diving is limited due to the extremely rugged and very photogenic coastline with cliffs towering from sea level up to 300 meters.
The EDC is an Accredited Tourism Business by the Tourism Council Tasmania. We are committed to provide high quality products, services and experiences.
The dive centre is a PADI 5 Star dive centre which means that we are a progressive dive shop that provides a full range of PADI scuba diving education programs, equipment selection and experience opportunities, while encouraging aquatic environmental responsibility.
Eaglehawk Dive Centre is a carbon-neutral facility and a PADI Green Star dive centre. This Award is granted to PADI Dive Centers that demonstrate a dedication to conservation across a wide range of business functions, including water conservation, energy use, environmentally friendly transportation practices, use of sustainable materials, conservation leadership and a donation to conservation through Project AWARE. The Green Star Award identifies dive businesses that care about the environment and are acting to protect it.
Eaglehawk Dive Centre is a 100% AWARE Partner – we make a donation to Project AWARE to support marine conservation projects for every dive student who completes a course with us.
